The boutique guesthouse on Heissa Island in Aswan was commissioned as a Phase I extension, comprising four suites added to an existing five-room hotel. A second phase, introducing an additional four bedrooms, is scheduled to commence this year. The property is uniquely integrated within the historic home of a Nubian family and is operated by them.

Our studio was commissioned to design the Birtcher House, situated on a picturesque 10-acre private plot in New Harmony, Utah, commanding uninterrupted views of Zion National Park. The client’s sole request was for a restrained architectural expression that embraces a Puebloan vernacular. In response, the house was conceived as a monolithic form—an architecture rooted in the land—drawing inspiration from the surrounding mountain formations and emerging as if carved from the site itself.

The architectural vision for Aseela is conceived as a nuanced dialogue between the built environment and its surrounding landscape—an approach rooted in sustainable design methodologies and guided by human-centric principles. The project seeks not to dominate its context, but to dissolve into it, fostering a quiet coexistence between architecture, nature, and occupant.

Our design philosophy is rooted in both contemporary and time-honored principles of sustainable architecture, guided by a human-centered approach that prioritizes climatic comfort and enriched sensory experiences. We seek to reconnect occupants with their innate affinity for nature by thoughtfully integrating natural elements within the built environment. In doing so, we not only enhance well-being but also consciously reduce our carbon footprint through intentional passive design strategies and the careful selection of locally sourced materials.
We believe that a long-term vision of sustainable urban practices must supersede ego-driven design philosophies, and that meaningful sustainability is rooted in a deep understanding of place and community, requiring sensitivity to the cultural and sociological needs and daily practices of individual societies.
Our studio is driven by a multidisciplinary team of architects, interior designers, and environmental engineers, working collaboratively to deliver projects of exceptional quality. We are consistently committed to advancing thoughtful, high-performance architecture that meets the highest standards of sustainability.
